India vs England 2nd ODI: Captain Rohit Sharma explains what went wrong for the Men in Blue

India suffered an embarrassing 100 run-defeat at the Lord's ground on Thursday as the Three Lions levelled the 3-match ODI series 1-1.

Pinpointing India's mistake, Rohit Sharma highlighted the struggles of Men in Blue when put under pressure. Chasing a below-par 246, Indian top-order faltered as they were reduced to 31-4 by the 12th over. Rohit's team never recovered from the early blow and kept losing wickets. They were eventually bundled out for just 146 within 39 overs.

Talking about the failure under pressure, the skipper said that he wants each member to take responsibility for their individual performance rather than looking at the team's goal.

'It has happened for us on a few occasions where we were 20 or 30 odd for 3 or 4 but that is where I want these guys to take the game on and see if they can find something different about their own game rather than looking at the team's goal, if they get the team out of that situation, imagine the confidence they are going to get', he said during the post-match press conference.

He went on to praise England's batting depth and pointed out that his team's main focus is to maintain the balance and improve the batting under pressure.

'Once a team loses 5-6 wickets, it becomes difficult for the team, however, England recovered well. For us, this is the challenge, whenever we lose 5-6 wickets we will have to learn the tactics to recover from such situations and score runs down the order. This has been India's problem for some time now and we need to focus on it', Rohit said.
