Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) made an announcement on February 6, 2024, revealing that the Indian cricket team will embark on a tour to Zimbabwe for a series of 5 T20 Internationals (T20Is) in July. The highly anticipated series is set to transpire from July 6 to July 14, 2024, with all matches scheduled to be held at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. It will follow the T20 World Cup in the US and the West Indies that finishes on June 29.

Tavengwa Mukuhlani, Chairman of ZC, expressed immense excitement about the forthcoming series, stating, "We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting India for a T20I series in July in what will be our biggest international attraction at home this year. The game of cricket has always immensely benefited from India’s influence and dedication to the sport, and I would like to say a huge thank you to the BCCI for committing to tour Zimbabwe once again."

Acknowledging the significance of India's visit, Mukuhlani emphasized the importance of this tour in Zimbabwe's efforts to re-establish themselves as a competitive force in international cricket.
