India's second triple centurion shares emotional message after Ranji Trophy snub

India's second triple centurion Karun Nair shared an emotional note on social expressing a heartfelt desire to play Test cricket again.

In a tweet, the Karnataka batter wrote, "Dear cricket, give me one more chance."

Nair became the talk of the town after his unbeaten 303 against England in December 2016. However, he subsequently lost his place in India's Test squad after consecutive failures against Australia in 2017.

Recently, the out-of-favour batter even lost a place in his domestic side, Karnataka, this season. First, he failed to find a place in the state's squads for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, now he has been overlooked for the first two Ranji matches as well.

Notably, Nair is the only second India after Virender Sehwag to slam a triple century in Test cricket.

Before he was overlooked by the national selectors, Nair represented India in six Tests and two ODIs.
