IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma wants to continue Virat Kohli's legacy. Here is why

Rohit Sharma who will take on India's ODI captaincy duties starting 6th Feb when the Men in Blue begin their 3 match ODI series vs West Indies feels he will rather take forward Virat Kohli's legacy than reinvent the team.

Kohli was forced to give up the ODI captaincy last year which BCCI had handed to Rohit Sharma. Speaking about the change in leadership roles, the 34-year-old feels that he only needs to take forward from where the ex-skipper had left.

'When Virat was captaining I was the vice-captain, so we went about the team in pretty much similar fashion, there is nothing that I need to come in and change drastically, he said.

Barring their horrendous tour of South Africa, India has been a force to reckon with and hence the new skipper feels that there is not much in the team that needs to be changed.

We are a good team, we have good players, he added.

However, Rohit Sharma said that he will focus on role clarity and individual communication more.
'if we can put individual communication in lace and talk to the person concerned, I think we can get what we want from different individuals in different situations in time of need.'
