IND vs SL 2nd Test: Wait for Virat Kohli's 71st international century extended till June 2022

Cricket fans expected Virat Kohli to score his long-awaited 71st international hundred during the Test series vs Sri Lanka but the plans of the former India captain were cut short by the visiting Sri Lankan bowlers.

After getting dismissed cheaply for 23 in the 1st innings of the Bengaluru Pink-ball Test, Kohli had a nearly similar dismissal in the 2nd innings as well when the ball kept low on the turning track.

The long wait for that elusive hundred continues as Virat Kohli has now had 73 innings in international cricket without a hundred.

With 81 runs in 3 innings during the Test series vs Sri Lanka, something unthinkable also happen as Virat Kohli’s Test average dropped below 50 for the first time since August 2017 and now stands at 49.95.

Ominous signs for the Delhi cricketer as his long slump in form has started to affect his legacy in Test cricket where he once roared like a lion and is now merely a bystander.
