The news of Quinton de Kock's retirement from Test cricket has come as a shock for the South Africa head coach Mark Boucher.

According to South African press, Boucher said that one can not expect someone of de Kock's calibre to retire at that age.

Boucher termed the news as a shock, however, he fully respects the southpaw's decision.

The Proteas head coach further added that the team have no luxury to dwell on de Kock's decision and instead focus on the remaining two Test matches against India.

The 29-year old wicket-keeper batter announced his sudden retirement from Test cricket after the end of the first Test match against India.
