      For maintaining a slow over-rate against South Africa in the first Test at Centurion, the victorious Team India were fined 20 percent of their match fee on Friday.

      Also, India would be docked one point in the ICC Men's World Test Championship, according to the ICC.

      The fine was imposed by Andrew Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees after India fell one over short when time allowances were taken into account.

      There was no need for a formal hearing as Captain Virat Kohli pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction.

      On Thursday, India won by 113 runs at SuperSport Park to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The second match of the series will begin on January 3 at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
