IND vs BAN: Rohit Sharma ruled out of 1st Test as BCCI confirms squad changes

Team India captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the first Test against Bangladesh due to a thumb injury. KL Rahul will captain the side in Rohit's absence.

Abhimanyu Easwaran has been named as Rohit's replacement.

"India captain Rohit Sharma met with a specialist in Mumbai for his left thumb injury, which he sustained during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. He has been advised appropriate management for this injury and will not be available for the first Test against Bangladesh," the BCCI said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out for the entire duration of the series due to injury. Navdeep Saini, Jaydev Unadkat and uncapped Saurabh Kumar have all been added to the squad in their place.

India will start their 2-match Test series against Bangladesh on 14th December at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
