ICC set to scrap THIS RULE starting with WTC Final

The controversial soft signal is finally on its way out.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made the rule change that is expected to come into effect next month at the World Test Championship (WTC) final in London.

According to Cricbuzz, the removal of the soft signal has been approved by the Sourav Ganguly-led cricket committee of the ICC and has been conveyed to the two WTC finalists, India and Australia.

The match at The Oval from June 7-12 will be the first international game to be played under the new playing conditions.

In addition, the ICC has also allowed for the floodlights to be switched on during the game in case of poor natural light. It is also well known that the one-off game will have a reserve day, making it possible to have a sixth day of play.
