ICC's masterstroke to grab Indian market, to sell media rights for men's and women's events separately

After IPL Media Rights fetched a whopping Rs 48,390 crore, it is now time for ICC to draw maximum eyeballs from the Indian broadcasters.

The ICC will release the first Invitation To Tender for the media rights for the next cycle on Monday (June 20). With up to six packages available, the current tender will be only for the Indian market.

The six packages will include the rights for TV only, digital-only, or a combination of both.

It will also be for the first time that rights for men's and women's cricket will be sold separately. The broadcaster can bid for 16 Men's events, involving around 362 matches, and six Women's events, consisting of 103 games

However, unlike IPL media rights, the ICC's tender process will be in the traditional closed envelope format, various media reports stated.

ICC Board will decide on submitted tenders in September 2022.
