Huge honour for Mohammad Rizwan, named Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year

Mohammad Rizwan was rewarded for his consistent show with the bat in the shortest format as the Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter won the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year Award for 2021.

Rizwan won the inaugural award in the said category, beating the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Jos Buttler and Wanidu Hasaranga. The 29-year-old scored 1326 runs in just 29 matches at a staggering average of almost 74. Rizwan's strike rate of 134.89 was also impressive.

He had started 2021 with a bang and had smashed his maiden T20I century against South Africa in Lahore. He also had a memorable outing against India at the T20 World Cup 2021, where he stitched an unbeaten 152-run stand with skipper Babar Azam. The duo helped Pakistan beat India for the first time in a World Cup game.
