Harmanpreet Kaur ruled out of Women's Big Bash League, here's why

In a big blow to the Melbourne Renegades, Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women's cricket team captain, has been ruled out of the Women's Big Bash League due to a back injury.

She also missed the first two matches for the team owing to her Asia Cup commitments with her national team.

England's Eve Jones has been named as her replacement. The Indian all-rounder was the league's player of the tournament in the previous edition of the WBBL.

The General Manager of the Melbourne Renegades in a statement said that they were looking forward to having her on the team this season after her stellar performance with them the last season and that it was unfortunate that she was ruled out because of her injury.

Harmanpreet in a tweet stated that she would miss playing with her 'Red Team' and that she was sad to miss out this season. She also wished her team good luck in the tweet. Harmanpreet led the Indian women's team to a record 7th Asia Cup title recently.
