Harmanpreet Kaur-less India gearing up for its first pink-ball test vs Australia

Mithali Raj's India will take on Australia in their first ever Pink-Ball Test but will miss the services of Harmanpreet Kaur who has been ruled out due to injury

After ending Australia's 26-match winning run in ODIs, the Indian team will face a new challenge when they take on the hosts in a test match after 15 years. This will be India’s second test this year while the Aussie women last played against England in 2019. Interestingly, it will also be India’s first pink ball test.

Like the ODI series, the visitors will miss the services of their vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who has been ruled out of the test due to injury. Given the members of the squad both the teams are expected to bat deep. India will rely on their openers Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana to give them a firing start as they did in the test against England. Whereas captain Mithali Raj will be looking to salvage her form and deliver for the team.
