In the latest edition of Legends League Cricket, former Indian players Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, and Irfan Pathan have been named captains of four different franchises.

From Sachin to Sehwag: Former stars set for return to cricket field again

Former Indian cricketers are once again getting together to enthral their fans.

In the latest edition of Legends League Cricket, former Indian players Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, and Irfan Pathan have been named captains of four franchises.

Pathan and Harbhajan will head the Bhilwara Kings and Manipal Tigers respectively, while Sehwag will captain Gujarat Giants. Gambhir has been named skipper for India Capitals.

With 16 matches scheduled among the four teams, the second edition of Legends League Cricket will kick start on September 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack and Jodhpur will be the other venues for the event.

The upcoming edition of Legends League will kick start with a special match between India Maharajas and World Giants. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will lead the India Maharajas team while former England captain Eoin Morgan will be at the helm of affairs for the World Giants side.

Meanwhile, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is also set for a return to the cricket field. He will lead defending champions India Legends in the second edition of the Road Safety World series.

This time around eight teams will feature in the tournament, namely Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, England and New Zealand.

The tournament is set to begin on September 10 in Kanpur. Indore, Dehradun, and Raipur will be the other venues. The final will take place on October 1.
