Former pacer Praveen Kumar makes scathing remark against Hardik Pandya after central contract saga

As the debate over Hardik Pandya's 'A' category central contract rages on, former India pacer Praveen Kumar has given his two cents about the entire ordeal.

Though Kumar was in support of the BCCI ruling, he did not sound happy about Pandya allegedly being given special preference.

Speaking on a YouTube show, Kumar wondered, 'Hardik Pandya chaand se thodi utar ke aaya hai? Khelna padega isko bhi. Kyun iske liye alag niyam hai? Isko bhi board ko dhamkana chahiye. (Has Hardik Pandya stepped down from the moon? He too has to play. Why there are different rules for him? The BCCI should reprimand him as well).'

He even asserted, 'Play all three formats. Or have you played 60-70 Test matches that you will just play T20? The country needs you. If you don't want to play Test cricket, give it in writing.'

Pandya has been out of action since October 2023 after he sustained an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup.
