First Pakistan cricketer joins UAE's International League T20

Azam Khan has become the first cricketer from Pakistan to join the UAE's International League T20. The wicketkeeper-batter who has been signed up as one of the overseas players by Desert Vipers for the inaugural edition has played 74 T20s so far including 3 T20Is for Pakistan.

Other notable cricketers who have joined the Lancer Capital-owned group are Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga, England's Sam Billings and Windies cricketer Sheldon Cottrell.

As per an ESPNCricinfo report, Azam Khan's inclusion in the squad will only come about after the Pakistan Cricket Board provides the No Objection Certificate (NOC).

The report stated that the board has recently turned down NOC drafts for players who are supposed to play in the Big Bash League and a couple of requests for the ILT20 as well.
