England Test Coach Brendon McCullum calls 'Bazball' talk silly

The term 'Bazball' has suddenly become synonymous with the new avatar of the formidable English team!

While the branding of the English Test team's aggressive intent as 'Bazball' has taken over cricketing circles, their coach Brendon McCullum does not seem to be very happy with the new label.

What is Bazball?

The term's origin lies in the nickname of the team's coach. The former New Zealand captain's nickname is Baz, and the new aggressive approach of the Ben Stokes-led Test team under him has been termed 'Bazball'.

However, Brendon McCullum says, he has neither any clue nor does he think the word justifies the approach of his team.

'It's not just all crash and burn, if you look at the approach, and that's why I don't really like that silly term that people are throwing out there', he said while talking on SEN Radio's WA Breakfast show.

England's fortunes have turned since Brendon McCullum took over the job as the coach. The team has since won all 4 of its Tests under McCullum's guidance. They clean-swept New Zealand 3-0 and then defeated India in the rescheduled 5th Test match recently.
