Dreamt everyday of wearing national colours again, says Dinesh Karthik on his India return

Dinesh Karthik who played a crucial role in Royal Challengers Bangalore's journey to the playoffs in IPL 2022 was rewarded with an India call-up for the South Africa T20I series. Karthik batted quite well as a finisher for RCB and scored 330 runs in 16 matches with a strike rate of 183.33.

The 37-year-old has been enjoying his India return & says that he is very happy and proud to be back after 3 years.

In a video uploaded by BCCI, the 37-year-old cricketer said that he is very happy to be a part of the Indian team and he is very grateful for every second he is there.

Interestingly, Karthik, who made his T20I return against South Africa in the ongoing series had played in India’s first ever T20I match against the visitors in 2006.

The RCB batter further added that he always wanted to make a comeback to the Indian team and it was something he dreamt everyday to wear the national colours and represent India. "It’s a good feeling to know that you have played the first T20I for the country and now you are playing South Africa again. It’s a lovely feeling," the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman concluded.
