Did Shakib Al Hasan play Cricket World Cup with just 1 eye? Bangladesh all-rounder's revelation

Star Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made a huge revelation on Monday that he played the entire Cricket World Cup with a blurred vision.

During a chat with Cricbuzz, the Bangladesh skipper revealed, 'It was not in one of two games but I had to face it throughout the World Cup.'

When asked if he was batting with one eye, Shakib said that it happened and he was in discomfort while facing the ball.

'The thing is that when I went to the doctor there was water in my cornea or retina and they had given me drops and told me that I have to lower my stress. I am not sure whether that was the reason,' he added.

'But when I checked again in America there was no stress and I told the doctor there is no World Cup so naturally there is no stress,' Shakib explained.

Shakib was handed over the ODI captaincy a few days before the World Cup but he didn't blame the added pressure as the reason for his stress.

'I don’t want to make any excuse for my stress but things would have been fine had I got the captaincy in advance. The team was not ready to play according to my philosophy.'

Bangladesh became the first team to be eliminated from the World Cup. They were handed 7 defeats and managed to only beat Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
