Cricket South Africa's head coach Mark Boucher charged with 'gross misconduct'

Cricket South Africa on Friday charged the South Africa head coach Mark Boucher with gross misconduct over allegations of racism by a former teammate Paul Adams. Boucher was among a number of CSA employees against whom allegations of racism were implicated last month by the Social Justice and Nation Building commission.

CSA in its statement said that his gross misconduct could lead to his dismissal as well. However, currently, he will continue to lead his team in the ongoing ODI series against India. The coach will face a disciplinary hearing headed by senior counsel advocate Terry Motau on 26th Jan.

As per the allegations, abusive and racist words were used to address former spinner Paul Adams in a South African team song which was used when he and Boucher both were a part of the Playing XI from 1995 to 2004. Boucher has however apologised for the use of foul language.
