After facing Delhi in their opener at home on April 1, they will take on CSK in Chennai on April 3, followed by a visit to Lucknow from the Sunrisers on April 7. Three days later, they will visit Bengaluru, with Punjab Kings coming to Lucknow next on April 15. They will meet the Royals in Jaipur on April 19 and defending champions Gujarat Titans will be at Ekana on the 22nd.
After a 5-day break, they will commence their second half of the IPL at Mohali, followed by 2 home matches against RCB &amp; CSK on May 1 &amp; 4. They will then travel to Ahmedabad on May 7, followed by a visit to Hyderabad on May 13. LSG will play host to the Mumbai Indians on May 16 with their final league encounter coming against KKR at the Eden Gardens on May 20.

The two may share a great bond off the field but on it, the battle will be fierce. While Dhoni would be eager to start what is likely to be his last season on a high, Hardik would be itching to prove that GT's dream run in the inaugural season wasn't a flash in the pan.

While the majority of overseas stars will be available from the start of the IPL season, players from South Africa &amp; Sri Lanka will miss the first few matches for their franchises.
The Proteas will be playing the remaining two ODIs from their Covid-interrupted series with the Netherlands till April 2. And the South Africans will be at full strength at home to give themselves the best chance of qualifying for the World Cup in India. A few of them will surely miss the first 2 matches for their franchises.
Three Sri Lankan stars too will be unavailable for initial rounds. Wanindu Hasaranga (RCB), Maheesh Theekshana &amp; Matheesha Pathirana (both CSK) are currently in New Zealand. Teams will be allowed to use an impact player at any time of the match, where they can replace a player from the starting XI with one of the five substitutes named at the toss.

And the 2023 edition will see many firsts which will add more excitement to the contests.
For one, teams will now pick their XIs after the toss, which means they'll have two sets of Playing XIs ready - one for if they're bowling and one for if they're batting.
And then there's the Impact Player rule, where teams will now name 5 substitutes in addition to their playing XIs. And they will be allowed to replace any of their players in the starting XI with one of those 5 substitutes at any point in the match. However, the impact player has to be an Indian if the team already has 4 overseas stars. Only when there are three or fewer foreigners in the XI, the team will be allowed to introduce another as an impact player.
Not to forget, the DRS has also undergone a revamp. Like in the Women's Premier League, the captains can now use DRS reviews to challenge no-ball &amp; wide calls made by the on-field umpires.

The complaint registered by Sanjeev Gupta against Binny pertained to his daughter-in-law Mayanti Langer being associated with Star Sports, the home broadcaster of the BCCI.
Justice Vineet Sareen ruled that the complaint against the BCCI president was devoid of merit and stands dismissed.
&nbsp;"I do not find merit in the complaint of Mr Sanjeev Gupta. Further, since the complainant has failed to establish the existence of an instance of Conflict of Interest, Rule 38(2) would not be attracted in the present case,"&nbsp; Justice Sareen said in his ruling.

"At no stage during Thursday&rsquo;s media interaction, did I give any reference to the ICC or made any remarks on the ICC Men&rsquo;s Cricket World Cup 2023, which is scheduled in October. This matter has not been mooted or discussed at any ICC forum so far,&rdquo; Sethi said in the press release.
According to PTI, ICC had already stated that no discussions relating to the Cricket World Cup 2023 were carried out with PCB as BCCI had assured that visa won't be a problem for the Men in Green.
