BCCI chief Jay Shah explains why Team India doesn't play too many day/night Tests

The future of Pink ball cricket hangs in the balance as India’s cricket authorities expressed resentment against the day/night format. BCCI chief Jay Shah spoke about the short duration of the format, saying it usually ends within two or three days.

“We will have to increase the amount of interest in the public for the pink-ball Test. Everyone wants to watch a Test match lasting four-five days. Once they get more used to it, we will do more pink-ball Tests,” he said, as per Times of India.

The BCCI has not scheduled any pink ball games for both India men’s and women’s cricket teams.

“Last time it was done in Australia, no one has done it since then. We were in talks with England, but we will do it gradually,” the BCCI secretary added.

The men’s team has played only four pink ball games, out of which they have lost just one. The women’s team has played a single match so far, which was declared a draw against Australia.
