'Banning someone for life... a bit harsh': David Warner on his lifetime captaincy ban

The day Cricket Australia modified their code of conduct rules, veteran batter David Warner vented his frustration on the board for taking too much time to set up the process.

Speaking at a promotion event, Warner said he is not a criminal and banning someone for life is a bit harsh.

While describing the drawn-out process by CA as traumatic and disappointing, 36-year-old Warner stated that it's frustrating given this could have been done 9 months ago when it was first brought up.

He also added that the process was fast-tracked now given Australia are facing a leadership crisis after Aaron Finch's retirement from ODI cricket.

However, the southpaw is happy that he gets an opportunity to put forward his case in front of the integrity unit.

Warner was banned for life from holding a leadership role in Australia after the 2018 ball-tampering scandal.
