Australia pull out of cricket series against Afghanistan

Australia have withdrawn from the 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan in March.

The decision comes in the wake of the Taliban's growing restrictions on the freedom of women & girls in Afghanistan.

Cricket Australia confirmed they took the decision to pull out of the series in the UAE after extensive consultation with the Australian Government.

CA said they are committed to growing the game for women and men around the world, including Afghanistan, and that they cannot proceed with the series that's part of the ODI Super League due to restrictions imposed by the Taliban on women’s and girls’ education and employment opportunities.
