Asia Cup 2022: Ricky Ponting predicts winner of India vs Pakistan match

Given the quality of the Men In Blue's squad, Australian legend Ricky Ponting has picked the Indian cricket team as the favourite to win the upcoming Asia Cup.

Ponting believes that the India-Pakistan match is going to be a close contest, but he thinks Rohit Sharma's team has a slight advantage over their arch-rivals.

The former Australian batter is excited about the matchup between the two Asian giants and claimed that cricket fans have been starved of these high-voltage contests because every player's performance goes up a notch in Indo-Pak encounters.

The head-to-head stats are also in favour of the Men In Blue. In the 13 matches played so far between the two sides in Asia Cup, India have won seven while Pakistan have emerged victorious in 5 games.

In the 2022 Asia Cup, India and Pakistan could end up playing each other as many as three times during the competition with the first match scheduled to take place on August 28.
