Asia Cup 2022: Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim announces retirement from T20 Internationals

Veteran Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim decided to bring the curtains down on his International T20 career on Sunday.

Rahim broke the news on Twitter as he wrote that he will now only 'focus on Test and ODI formats of the game and will be available to play franchise leagues when the opportunity arrives.'

His decision came after Bangladesh lost both of its group games and was knocked out of the Asia Cup.

The 35-year-old looked woefully out of form throughout the entire tournament as he scored only 5 runs in two games. Mushfiqur became the second player in the past year from Bangladesh to retire from the shortest format. Tamim Iqbal also hung up his boots in July.
