England's 'Bazball' approach will face the ultimate test against the Aussies in Ashes 2023

The Ashes, the most famous cricket rivalry is here once again. The five-match series between England and Australia will begin at Edgbaston on June 16.

An impassioned rivalry that started in 1882 between the two countries, features mostly good-natured taunts between supporters now, and yet, it has kept the passion of the series relevant even at a time when Test cricket is losing prominence to T20 franchise tournaments.

Under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum, whose nickname is “Baz,” England has gone all-out on attack and won 12 of its last 17 Tests. Always chasing a win — even at the risk of losing — England have not been defeated in a series over the past year.

And revenge would be on the cards for England who were battered 4-0 in the 2021/22 Ashes Down Under.

Coming to their opponents, freshly crowned World Test champions Australia will be looking to continue their form and show why they deserve the Test mace in the first place.

Having won the 2021/22 Ashes in dominant fashion at home, skipper Pat Cummins and co. will leave no stone unturned to try and replicate such a result against their rivals away from home.

TEAM NEWS
