Former India batter and Afghanistan cricket team's mentor during the recently concluded World Cup, Ajay Jadeja has opined that Pakistan and Afghanistan cricket teams have similarities in many ways. But, when asked about his interest in coaching the Pakistan side after the World Cup, the former Indian skipper gave an epic response.

Jadeja ready to coach Pakistan?

Recently, Jadeja was questioned by Sports Today regarding his willingness to coach Pakistan, the former Indian skipper said, "I am ready," and then made a comparison between Pakistan and Afghanistan. "I taught the Afghans what I had learned, and I think Pakistan used to be just like Afghanistan. In front of your teammate, you could say anything you wanted to say, Jadeja continued.

Just ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup, Ajay Jadeja was named as the mentor of the Afghanistan cricket team and it proved to be a master-stroke for cricket's new emerging power. Afghanistan had a memorable World Cup in India as Afghans secured victory over Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. The team led by Hashmatullah Shahidi won four of their nine World Cup matches. Pakistan finished ahead of Afghanistan in the World Cup 2023 standings despite losing to its Asian rivals. But Babar Azam and company were unable to advance to the ICC event's semifinals.
