Cadillac Dismisses Rumors of Christian Horner Joining F1 Team

Cadillac Dismisses Rumors of Christian Horner Joining F1 Team

Silverstone (UK), Aug 26 (AP) The Cadillac Formula 1 team has firmly dismissed recent rumors suggesting their interest in bringing Christian Horner on board as part of their debut in the F1 circuit next season. The reports emerged following Horner's unexpected departure from Red Bull Racing post the British Grand Prix last month, which concluded his two-decade career with the team without an official explanation.

There were speculations that Horner, who has a decorated history with Red Bull including eight Formula 1 drivers' championships, could be a strategic signing for Cadillac's promising entry as the 11th team on the grid. However, Dan Towriss, the CEO of Cadillac Formula 1 and TWG Motorsports, put an end to such claims during the announcement of their new driver roster featuring Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez.

“There have been no talks with Christian Horner. No plans to do that,” Towriss clarified, as he decisively shut down the circulating rumor. He went on to commend the current team principal, stating, “Our support backing is 100% in Graeme Lowdon.”

Horner had been instrumental in Red Bull Racing's accomplishments, guiding them since their inception as a full constructor in 2005. Under his leadership, the team celebrated six constructors' titles, alongside eight drivers' championships achieved by stars Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.

Meanwhile, this season has seen McLaren take the lead in Formula 1, with Red Bull's performance seeing a downturn. Despite this, Max Verstappen, the reigning champion, still holds a respectable third place in the standings, and Red Bull remains strongly positioned at fourth in the team rankings. (AP) DDV
