AIMA Conclave:&nbsp;India has macroeconomic stability even as the country faces headwinds due to the war in Europe and rising interest rates by the U.S. Federal Reserve, said V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser, Ministry of Finance as he spoke at All India Management Association&rsquo;s (AIMA) 7th National Leadership Conclave. Nageswaran mentioned that during the pandemic the government has undertaken immediate and urgent responses along with keeping the long-term vision in mind. &ldquo;Because of the pandemic and the shock it had on income, economic growth, and employment, somebody had to run with the baton of keeping the economy growing and that is why the government took it upon itself to undertake capital expenditure, further boost physical infrastructure, and build a digital architecture which also facilitated financial inclusion. These activities were done even as the government worked on the side to minimize the devastating impact of the pandemic on the vulnerable sections of the society,&rdquo; CEA said. Speaking at the AIMA conclave 2022, he mentioned that there has been a steady flow of support, especially to the vulnerable sections of the economy through the Prime Minister&rsquo;s Garib Kalyan Yojana. Nageswaran went on to speak about the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee scheme that helped the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cash transfer support to the farmers. Along with the income tax cut and the capital spending plans the government also launched Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes which are aimed at creating global capacity on Indian soil to cater to both, the domestic demand and to take advantage of global markets.

Supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s view, Agarwal also stated the government has no business to be in business and once it is out of business, India would instantly be a $5 trillion economy.&nbsp;
Talking about India's commitment to net-zero emission by 2070 and shifting most of the energy to renewables by 2030, Agarwal said though India is not comparable to the United States, as it has not&nbsp;industrialised, India is endowed with low-Sulphur Coal, oil and gas and it is on the cusp of a renewable energy revolution. He said that one day, energy will not involve any input cost, just like telecom, and it would be a service with only capital cost.&nbsp;
Agarwal said that Barmer in Rajasthan, where Vedanta arm Cain Oil and Gas operates an oilfield, has the potential to become Houston that is considered a major global energy hub "The world wants us to stop coal.
The Middle East does not want India to produce oil, which India can produce at $7 a barrel. Barmer can be a Houston," Agarwal said speaking at the seventh National Leadership Conclave of AIMA.&nbsp;
Anil Agarwal also revealed that the company in partnership with Foxconn will set up a semiconductor manufacturing plant in the next two years.&nbsp;

Ranganathan, who is also the President of AIMA&nbsp;said trends such as&nbsp;digitisation&nbsp;and technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) are going to "fundamentally redefine" the way businesses are done.&nbsp;
According to him, under Industry 4.0, rapid&nbsp;digitisation&nbsp;is happening around and it is important for the corporate sector to embrace the technology. Earlier,&nbsp;technology&nbsp;was an enabler and is now a strategic tool that has redefined&nbsp;the traditional&nbsp;companies, he added.&nbsp;
Dempo Group of Companies Chairman Shrinivas Dempo said that now every&nbsp;organisation&nbsp;needs to build a culture where its employees are happy.&nbsp;He also mentioned that another challenge for the Indian companies was sustainability.&nbsp;
While noting that the hierarchy of management is getting changed and moving towards shared leadership, he said, "we have to change the definition of 'survival of the fittest' with 'survival of most adoptable', which makes you the fittest".&nbsp;

AIMA Conclave:&nbsp;Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Murty Foundation and Social Worker said philanthropy is not just about spending money, but also loving human beings as she addresses&nbsp;All India Management Association&rsquo;s (AIMA) 7th National Leadership Conclave.&nbsp; &ldquo;A lot of people mistake philanthropy for money. Money is an essential component but it is not all the components,&rdquo; Murty said adding that philanthropy means loving fellow human beings. &ldquo;In Latin philanthropy means loving the fellow human being. You should love human beings, whether you have money or not. It is the secondary. But you must love your mankind and your people,&rdquo; she said.&nbsp; Murty, while speaking at AIMA Conclave 2022, said&nbsp;the golden rule of philanthropy is don't expect when you do something for others.&nbsp; Talking about how to fix illiteracy in India, Murty said parents&nbsp;should insist on education. &ldquo;They must be aware of the importance of education. Education is a magic wand. I always say that it changes a person&rsquo;s life. When parents are not responsible, you cannot do that with any policy or with any incentive.&rdquo;&nbsp; &ldquo;Play well, study well, try to understand knowledge, and learn well, that is the key to success rather than by hurting and getting marks,&rdquo; Murty said. She also mentioned that parents shouldn&rsquo;t push their children for their unfinished dreams.&nbsp;

Money is an essential component but it is not all the components,&rdquo; Murty said adding that philanthropy means loving fellow human beings. &ldquo;In Latin philanthropy means loving the fellow human being. You should love human beings, whether you have money or not. It is the secondary. But you must love your mankind and your people,&rdquo; she said.&nbsp; Murty, while speaking at AIMA Conclave 2022, said&nbsp;the golden rule of philanthropy is don't expect when you do something for others.&nbsp; Talking about how to fix illiteracy in India, Murty said parents&nbsp;should insist on education. &ldquo;They must be aware of the importance of education. Education is a magic wand. I always say that it changes a person&rsquo;s life. When parents are not responsible, you cannot do that with any policy or with any incentive.&rdquo;&nbsp; &ldquo;Play well, study well, try to understand knowledge, and learn well, that is the key to success rather than by hurting and getting marks,&rdquo; Murty said. She also mentioned that parents shouldn&rsquo;t push their children for their unfinished dreams.&nbsp;

A well-created narrative in the information domain to adversely affect the&nbsp;enemy,&nbsp;can have devastating effects,&nbsp;Chaudhari&nbsp;mentioned.
As humans become more and more interconnected, a cyber-attack on our networks can cripple command and control structures, Chaudhari noted.&nbsp;&nbsp;"What I am trying to get at is that in the next war, the enemy might not be a country or an&nbsp;organisation," he mentioned.&nbsp;
Future warfare is likely to be hybrid in nature and the spectrum of conflict will be spread across all domains spanning from conventional to sub-conventional, kinetic to non-kinetic, and lethal to non-lethal, all under a nuclear overhang, he said.&nbsp;
"The weapons we are looking at would be ranging from a small computer virus to hypersonic missiles," he added.&nbsp;
"There is a need for us to develop capabilities across the full spectrum of conflict and focus on multi-domain operations. Similarly, our doctrines, equipment, training, and tactics will have to be flexible and able to adapt rapidly to these new challenges," he stressed.&nbsp;

Business is a force for good and it has a very strong multiplier effect in the society that we live in, Mittal said. Bharti&rsquo;s chief pointed out, &ldquo;Our business needs to now speak to society in a much more fundamental way where they are gaining from what you are doing, so it is more than just generating employment or paying your taxes.
Are you doing it in a responsible way? Are you creating enough momentum through your business to accelerate the participation of the people on the margins of society to come into the mainstream?&rdquo;&nbsp; Bharti Airtel fought difficult battles and emerged stronger as a "very stable&nbsp;organisation", after a five-year storm in the telecom industry that was marked by falling revenue and high debt, Mittal said.&nbsp;
Airtel is completely managed by professionals who are best-in-class, he asserted.&nbsp;

Adar&nbsp;Poonawalla mentioned he had raised Rs 10,000 crore from other countries, and philanthropists like Bill Gates in 2020 to build capacities and buy raw materials to start vaccine production.&nbsp;
However, the execution was the hardest part for him as everything was shut down during the pandemic, though the government helped in getting special visas and fast-tracking permissions and licenses.&nbsp; It was not just a financial risk for Adar Poonawalla but a reputational risk as well.
When asked why he chose&nbsp;the Oxford-developed vaccine, Adar mentioned four factors that helped him; cost-effectiveness, proven technology, thermostability, and trust factor.
Speaking at the AIMA Conclave 2022, Poonawalla said though there is a first-mover advantage, you can be second or third as well and still do great by&nbsp;learning&nbsp;from the mistakes of others.&nbsp;
Adar mentioned the new variant of coronavirus may cause some disruptions later and that is why it is important to get booster doses. &ldquo;It will reduce the chances of future lockdowns which have created distress and financial loss to everybody,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;
