Portugal's beloved Bobi: World's oldest dog passes away at 31

A dog named Bobi, recognized as the longest-lived of its kind, has passed away at the remarkable age of 31 in Portugal.

Born on May 11, 1992, Bobi was reportedly an eye-popping 31 years and 165 days old at the time of his passing.

The owner of the Bobi said that he was never tied up or leashed during his life and as he got older, spent most of his time in the backyard of his property hanging out with cats. And, he enjoyed eating human food.

Bobi’s certified birth records reportedly state he was born on May 11, 1992, according to Guinness World Records.

Bobi surpassed the "oldest living dog" record previously held by an Ohio-based chihuahua named Spike, aged 23, and the "oldest dog in history" record, which had been held for a long time by an Australian cattle dog named Bluey, who lived from 1910 to 1939, as recognized by Guinness World Records.
