Nostalgia is a great head start for initiating conversation among Gen Z and early millennials

Nostalgia hits home and now it can be your biggest matchmaker too, as per a latest data by dating app QuackQuack. The dating app conducted a survey where it was found that nostalgia acts as a matchmaker for Gen Z and early millennials.

Around a quarter (26%) of people who go on dates, specifically those from the Gen Z and Millennial generations, like to make new connections by talking about things they remember from the past. These things could be old cartoons, stuff from pop culture like movies and music, and TV shows. Many people seem to really enjoy this.

Nearly half (43%) of Millennials who are between 28 and 32 years old find that talking about things they used to love, like their favourite TV shows and games they played when they were younger, helps them become better friends or even start romantic relationships. It's like a secret key that helps them know their match better and makes conversations smoother.

For Gen Z women aged 20 to 25, about one in five (19%) use nostalgic topics to start conversations when they're getting to know someone new. Additionally, around a third (32%) of people who date in big cities and smaller towns actively look for people who also like the same old things they do. This helps them make deeper connections with each other.
