World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2023:  Around 73 per cent of women want companies to allow them to take menstrual leaves while 71.7 per cent of the survey participants do not want the menstrual leaves to be paid.

A survey conducted by Everteen ahead of the global Menstrual Hygiene Day found that around 73 per cent of women want companies to allow them to take menstrual leaves.

More than 10,000 women aged 18 to 35 participated in the survey from different cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru among others.

The Menstrual Hygiene survey report 2023, also revealed that 71.7 per cent of the participants do not want the menstrual leaves to be paid leaves, as it may make companies reluctant to hire female employees.

Also, 86.6 per cent of survey participants were in favour of menstrual-friendly workplaces where females do not have to be hesitant in discussing the subject openly.
