Nutritionist suggests to start your day with walnuts for better brain health

Walnuts are nutrient-packed nuts known for their rich, earthy flavour and crunchy texture, packed with antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. They offer a variety of health benefits, from supporting heart health to promoting brain function.

Recently, a nutritionist Pooja Palriwala shared a post suggesting that eating walnuts on an empty stomach in the morning can sharpen your focus, fuel your brain, and boost your memory. However, it is advisable to consume walnuts that have been soaked in water overnight for better absorption and always eat them in moderation due to their high-calorie content.

Benefits of eating walnuts

Heart Health: Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Brain Function: The omega-3 fatty acids in walnuts also support brain health, improving cognitive function and memory.

Antioxidant Properties: Walnuts contain antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body, protecting against chronic diseases like cancer.

Weight Management: Despite being calorie-dense, walnuts can aid in weight management due to their high protein and fiber content, promoting feelings of fullness and reducing overeating.

Blood Sugar Control: Walnuts have been shown to help regulate blood sugar levels, making them beneficial for individuals with diabetes or those at risk of developing the condition.

Bone Health: Walnuts are a good source of minerals like magnesium, which is essential for bone health and may help prevent conditions like osteoporosis.
