A new study has found that consuming prebiotic and fermented foods may not only lower stress but may also improve sleep.

Published in Molecular Psychiatry, the research involved participants aged 18 and 59 who were instructed to eat a psychobiotic diet that includes whole grains, prebiotic fruits and vegetables, fermented foods and legumes.

Researchers found that participants who followed a psychobiotic diet experienced a decrease in the amount and intensity of stress. Apart from this, improvement in their sleep pattern was also noted.
