Indian cuisine ranks 11th in '100 Best Cuisines In The World' list, Italy wins top spot

Indians love their share of desi khana and looks like even the world loves Indian food as much as we do. Be it homemade dal chawal that you crave after a long trip or that warm bowl of rasam, Indian food is comfort food.

While you drool and think of your next tasty desi meal, Indian cuisine has just bagged the 11th rank on the ‘100 Best Cuisines In The World’ list by TasteAtlas. The top 3 spots were taken over by Italy, Japan and Greece.

Indian cuisine beat many cuisines to win the 11th position. Thai, Polish, Turkish, American, and South Korean cuisines were all ranked after Indian cuisine.

Portugal, China, Indonesia, Mexico, France, Spain, and Peru dominated the first 15 spots on the list. According to the experiential travel online guide, a total of 395,205 (271,819 valid) dish ratings, and 115,660 (80,863 valid) food product ratings were recorded. While Japan and Italy competed for the first position, Italy won the spot, thanks to Pizza!

Before this report, TasteAtlas mentioned Bengaluru’s Corner House, Mangaluru’s Pabbas, Mumbai’s Apsara, and K. Rustom & Co. and Naturals in the ‘Most Iconic Ice Cream Spots In The World’ list. They also rated Murg Makhani as one of the 'Best Dishes In The World'.
