For those seeking practical DIY solutions offering a range of benefits, the potential of nutmeg, also known as jaiphal, might pique your interest.

Nutritionist Leema Mahajan recently emphasized the benefits of nutmeg, asserting that merely a small pinch of jaiphal or nutmeg holds the power to provide relief from skin troubles, insomnia, digestive problems, and even low libido.

She underlined nutmeg's positive effects on the skin, stating, "Nutmeg is considered one of the finest herbs for skin. Thanks to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, it maintains the skin's health, leaving it smooth and soft. Additionally, it's effective in addressing acne, unclogging pores, and eliminating blackheads."

Furthermore, nutmeg potentially aids in hormonal regulation, supports digestive health due to its carminative attributes, and enhances sleep quality, thanks to compounds like myristicin, which possess sedative properties.

Nutmeg stands as a valuable source of essential nutrients like vitamins A, C, and E, in addition to vital minerals such as manganese, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, zinc, and iron. Its rich fiber content promotes digestive well-being and helps stabilize blood sugar levels.

Mahajan recommended incorporating a pinch of nutmeg powder into your glass of milk for improved sleep or preparing nutmeg tea to potentially enjoy its varied benefits.

The expert concluded that while nutmeg is a culinary gem, exceeding daily doses of 120 mg could lead to discomforting side effects, underscoring the importance of moderation in its consumption.
