Potatoes are the most versatile vegetables in almost every Indian household. They are consumed in different forms and can be cooked with any other vegetable. However, potatoes are blamed for being high in carbs and cause obesity, as when deep fried they are high in calories indeed.

Recently, nutritionist Pooja Malhotra shared a post on Instagram informing the nutritional values of potatoes and how they can be a healthier choice if consumed properly.

According to her, besides being rich in carbohydrates, potatoes are also rich in calories, fibre, potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, antioxidants and manganese.

Malhotra suggests combining potatoes with other vegetables to fulfil protein requirements. So, without any second thought, go ahead and relish your favourite aloo ki sabzi rather than eating french fries or packaged potato chips.
