Garba, a traditional dance form originated from the Indian state of Gujarat, has been included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).&nbsp;
After the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said "Garba inspires us to preserve and promote our heritage for future generations".
The head of the evaluation body of the committee described Garba as a "ritualistic and devotional dance performed during the Hindu festival of Navaratri, dedicated to honouring the feminine energy."
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendera Patel also shared a post on X, terming Garba's addition to the list as a "proud moment for Gujarat and India".
Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy also shared a post on the same, saying that the listing was a testimony to the "tireless efforts of this government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to showcase our rich culture, traditions and heritage to the world".&nbsp;

Flight attendant Kevin, who also loves to use TikTok, shared with his followers some unknown truths about the aviation industry. In his video, Kevin claimed that the water tanks hardly get cleaned, &ldquo;The fact that the tanks rarely get cleaned and that the water should be the least of your concern. For me, it&rsquo;s always been the way that flight attendants have to clean out coffee pots.&rdquo;
He further revealed that the cabin crew usually dumps coffee particles into the toilet, and gets a little too close for comfort to the toilet bowl. He added, &ldquo;I imagine that there&rsquo;s some kind of backsplash of particles, bacteria, whatever that goes directly back into the coffee pot, which gets put right back into the coffee maker.&rdquo;
Kevin also revealed that the backseat pockets of the aircraft are extremely unhygienic and are hardly sanitised. They may also have diapers, wrappers, used tissues, and strands of hair!

UNESCO recognizes iftar as Intangible Cultural Heritage, acknowledging its cultural significance across cultures, a milestone for the Muslim community.

UNESCO has officially recognized the significance of iftar, the evening meal that marks the end of daily fasting during the holy month of Ramadan in the Muslim faith, and added it&nbsp;as part of its Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
The application for iftar's was jointly submitted by Iran, T&uuml;rkiye, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, demonstrating the shared significance of this tradition across different cultures.
This recognition marks a significant achievement for the Muslim community which highlights the importance of iftar as a social and cultural practice.&nbsp;
"Iftar (also called Eftari or Iftor) is observed by Muslims at sunset in the month of Ramadan, upon completion of all religious and ceremonial rites," said UNESCO.
In several Muslim countries, it is customary to mark iftar by eating a date accompanied by tea. Recipes for dishes and pastries, however, vary greatly depending on the country.

Married people might enjoy longer lives, but it doesn't guarantee ideal health: A study in the Journal of the American Heart Association suggests that middle-aged and elderly heterosexual couples could face increased high blood pressure risks if one partner has the condition.
The study, conducted in China, England, India, and the United States, examined data from over 30,300 couples across four countries revealing that women married to men with high blood pressure were more likely to have hypertension themselves, as were men with wives facing hypertension.&nbsp;
The study suggests that health-related conversations between partners and shared approaches to lifestyle changes could significantly impact hypertension management.
"High blood pressure is more common in the US and England than in China and India, however, the association between couples&rsquo; blood pressure status was stronger in China and India than in the US and England. One reason might be cultural,&rdquo; said study co-lead author Peiyi Lu, Ph.D., a post-doctoral fellow in epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has released a drug safety alert regarding this common painkiller.
According to the alert, the constituent of this painkiller, mefenamic acid, has been linked to severe allergic reactions such as the DRESS syndrome, which can impact internal organs.
&ldquo;Healthcare professionals, patients and consumers are advised to closely monitor the possibility of the above adverse drug reactions (ADR) associated with the use of the above-suspected drug," said healthcare professionals.
Let us tell you that- DRESS syndrome (Drug Rash with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms) is a severe allergic reaction affecting around 10 per cent of individuals, potentially deadly and caused by certain medications.
"If such a reaction is encountered, people should report the matter to the national coordination centre of the PvPI under the commission by filing a form on the website - www.ipc.gov.in - or through android mobile app ADR PvPI and PvPI helpline number 1800-180-3024," the release stated.
