The rising temperatures and climate change might be making dogs more aggressive: Study

Humans are not the only ones who are dealing with climate change, but even dogs are struggling with it. According to a recent study done by Harvard University, there is a connection between dog bites and rising temperatures.

In the study, it was mentioned that dogs biting humans increase with rising temperatures and ozone levels. It was further noted that there is a correlation between UV irradiation levels and higher cases of dog bites.

For the study, the team analysed 69,525 reports of dogs biting humans. It was observed in the study that the cases of dog biting increased on hot and humid days and decreased on rainy and colder days.

The researchers explained that "behavior may be influenced by a general stress response to pollutants triggered by lung inflammatory messengers, and more direct effects on brain function are also possible."

It was also noted that ozone is highly reactive and that triggers oxidative stress in the airways which impairs the breathing function in the animals.
