Chandrayaan-3: Women scientists who have steered ISRO's remarkable missions

While the whole nation is rejoicing in ISRO’s achievement as Chandrayaan-3 touched down at the Moon’s South Pole, let us meet the women scientists of ISRO, who have been part of various science missions over the years.

Ritu Karidhal- Also known as one of India's ‘Rocket Women’, holds the role of a senior scientist within the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), serving as the Mission Director for Chandrayaan-2 and the position of Deputy Operations Director for Mangalyaan, India's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM).

Nandini Harinath - She was a part of the Mars Orbiter Mission, Mangalyaan. She has co-authored a research paper on mission planning, analysis and operations.

Moumita Dutta - Dutta has expertise in developing and testing Optical and IR sensors, instruments or payloads.

Anuradha TK - Even though now retired, she has been a scientist and project director of ISRO, specialised in communication satellites.

Minal Rohit- Minal Rohit, an Indian scientist and systems engineer at ISRO, played a pivotal role in the successful launch of the Mangalyaan space probe to Mars.

Muthayya Vanitha - Vanitha was the project director of the Chandrayaan-2 lunar mission of ISRO.

VR Lalithambika – With an expertise in Advanced Launcher Technologies, she had taken the lead in the ‘Gaganyaan’ mission.
