Caution! Water bottles you use regularly might be dirtier than a toilet seat

For research, a team from US-based waterfilterguru.com collected samples of various types of bottles and from different parts of the bottles and found two types of bacteria. Know more.

Most of the time, we miss cleaning our water bottles that we use regularly. But it has been revealed in a study that reusable bottles contain almost 40,000 times more bacteria than a toilet seat.

For research, a team from US-based waterfilterguru.com collected samples of various types of bottles and from different parts of the bottles. They found two types of bacteria in them; gram-negative rods and bacillus.

As many types of bacteria are already present in our mouth, the researchers advise washing our water bottles at least once a day with hot water and soap and sanitise them every week.
