Gen Z, characterized by its tech-savvy nature, is infamous for introducing the world to some hilarious and weird slangs and expressions to communicate. Even though these slangs have become quite popular, they sometimes get annoying and overusing these slangs can be perceived as disrespectful, especially in a professional environment.

A survey done by language learning platform Preply found that Gen Z is guilty of overusing some slang like G.O.A.T. 20% of Gen Z participants said they would rather use slang than the common office jargon. Few other slangs they use the most are FOMO, Slay, Lit and vibing.

G.O.A.T - The slang "G.O.A.T" stands for "Greatest of All Time." It is commonly used to refer to someone or something that is considered the best or most exceptional in a particular field or category.

FOMO - "FOMO" is an acronym that stands for "Fear of Missing Out." It describes the anxiety or apprehension people may feel when they think others are having enjoyable experiences from which they are absent. This term is often used in the context of social activities, events, or trends.

Slay - In the slang of Gen Z, "slay" is often used as a verb to describe someone doing exceptionally well, being confident, or achieving success in a particular context, often related to fashion, performance, or any impressive accomplishment. It's a term of admiration for someone who is excelling or looking fabulous.

Lit - Lit is an adjective used to describe something that is exciting, excellent, or highly enjoyable. It's often used to convey enthusiasm or approval, such as describing a party, a performance, or any event or experience that is lively and enjoyable.

Vibing - This refers to being in a good, positive, or relaxed state of mind. It's often used to describe a situation where someone is enjoying the atmosphere, connecting well with others, or simply experiencing good vibes. The term is associated with a feeling of harmony and positive energy.
