Satellite view of Mahakumbh: Before-and-after images of Prayagraj's massive infrastructure development

New satellite images released by the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) National Remote Sensing Center in Hyderabad have unveiled the significant infrastructure developments undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh government in preparation for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, recognized as the world's largest religious gathering.

The images were captured from key locations in Prayagraj, including the Triveni Sangam at the Ganges River junction, Shivalay Park, and Parade Grounds.

These images were taken using EOS-04 (RISAT-1A) 'C' band microwave satellite, which boasts all-weather capabilities and high-resolution imaging.

The time-lapse series shows the construction of Shivalay Park, a 12-acre India-shaped park in Prayagraj, designed to be a major highlight during the festival. The images, captured on three separate dates, provide a visual record of the ongoing development of this iconic landmark.

Yogi Adityanath visits Kumbh On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by his cabinet ministers, visited the Triveni Sangam and took a holy dip. The visit came after the cabinet announced key development projects and policy changes aimed at boosting the state’s growth.

“The revised aerospace and defense policy will introduce new incentives to attract significant investments in the sector,” Adityanath shared.

He also highlighted new investment proposals, stating that ₹10,000 crore worth of investment in Mirzapur and additional proposals in Moradabad were discussed, with more such projects in the pipeline.

Furthermore, the chief minister revealed plans to roll out a scheme to provide smartphones and tablets to the youth of the state in the coming months, with the necessary funds already allocated for the initiative.
