Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 16 said that Prime Minister Modi has decided to make Amit Shah his successor. Raking up his earlier claim about BJP's policy of retiring its leaders at the age of 75, Kejriwal said he expects Modi to follow this rule, adding that it was the PM who first introduced this policy.

"PM Modi will turn 75 on September 17, 2025. Modi has decided to make Amit Shah his successor and make him PM on September 17, 2025. For the past two or three years, he has been working on this. Those seen as a challenger to Amit Shah in the BJP have been gradually sidelined. They removed Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, Raman Singh, Khattar, and Devendra Fadnavis. Now, only one person remains. And that is Yogi Adityanath."

He claimed that if the BJP forms government, the saffron party would make Yogi Adityanath resign.

"If they form government, they will remove Yogi within two months. When I raised this issue, Amit Shah and others said that Modi will complete his third term and wouldn't step down. I respect their wishes. But PM Modi has not yet said that he will not retire after 75 years, PM Modi has made this rule and I have full hope that he will follow this rule. Otherwise, it will be said that he made this rule to remove Advani," he said.

Yadav claimed that the BJP will change the Constitution and end reservation if it comes to power after the Lok Sabha polls.

"The people of BJP have always been against reservation. They will change the Constitution and end reservation after coming to power," he said at a joint press conference with Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav here.

Yadav claimed the BJP has been defeated in the first four phases of Lok Sabha polls.
