As part of his ongoing divisional public representative dialogue series, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday held a crucial meeting with MLAs from the Jhansi and Chitrakoot Dham divisions to assess regional development priorities and ground realities.

During the interaction, held in Lucknow, the Chief Minister personally engaged with each legislator to gather first-hand insights into the conditions of their constituencies. The dialogue went beyond routine reviews and focused on addressing the specific challenges of remote areas using local representatives’ on-ground experience.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to the Bundelkhand region, CM Yogi said its comprehensive development remains a top priority. He also highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of the region.

He said, “We are not just formulating schemes—timely, transparent and ground-level implementation is our identity.” Emphasising regional pride, he added, “We are committed to lifting Bundelkhand out of decades of neglect and integrating it into Uttar Pradesh's journey toward a brighter future.”

The Chief Minister underlined the cultural importance of Chitrakoot Dham, known as the place of Lord Ram’s penance, and Jhansi, which represents the legacy of Rani Lakshmibai’s courage. “The rejuvenation and integrated progress of these regions form the cornerstone of building a 'New Uttar Pradesh',” he said.

In total, 1,088 development works worth Rs 8,776 crore have been proposed from the two divisions. The Jhansi division, which includes Jhansi, Jalaun, and Lalitpur districts, accounts for 691 proposals valued at Rs 4,901 crore. Meanwhile, the Chitrakoot division—comprising Banda, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba—submitted 397 proposals worth Rs 3,875 crore.

Jhansi and Banda districts emerged as the largest contributors, with projects worth Rs 1,916 crore and Rs 1,825 crore, respectively.

The proposals span a wide array of infrastructure works including road connectivity to block headquarters, inter-district and interstate links, access roads to religious sites, logistics hubs, bypasses, flyovers, rail overbridges, irrigation systems, and bridges including pontoon structures.

The Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department and Dharmarth Karya Vibhag to work in close coordination with MLAs to prioritise projects and ensure quality and transparency. He also instructed that proposals aimed at enhancing interstate connectivity in Bundelkhand be taken up in the first phase.

Underscoring the importance of grassroots involvement, the Chief Minister said, “We are committed to lifting Bundelkhand out of decades of neglect and integrating it into Uttar Pradesh's journey toward a brighter future.” He added, “The government’s core objective is to see every scheme through to completion, with accountability, strategic use of technology, and zero compromise on quality.”

The Chief Minister urged all public representatives to actively monitor the implementation of development works to ensure they meet the expectations of local communities.
