The top court, consisting of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Joymalya Bagchi, on Wednesday, chose not to urgently schedule a petition challenging the film's release and orally remarked: "Let the film be released". A counsel representing one of the defendants in the murder case argued that the film's release could influence the trial. On the previous day, the high court instructed the movie's producer to facilitate a screening for those advocating its ban, in light of its scheduled release on July 11.
