Two SpiceJet Flights Diverted Due to Technical Issues, Passengers and Crew Safe

SpiceJet faced two mid-air emergencies due to a bird strike and technical glitch. Swift actions by the flight crew ensured safe landings without any passenger harm, highlighting robust aviation safety protocols.

Two SpiceJet Flights Diverted Due to Technical Issues, Passengers and Crew Safe

In separate incidents on Monday, two SpiceJet flights were diverted to alternate airports due to technical issues, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew members on board.

The first incident occurred with a Delhi-Shillong SpiceJet flight, which experienced a mid-air technical glitch and was forced to divert to Patna. The aircraft safely landed at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport at 8:52 am. According to Patna Airport Director Anchal Prakash, the emergency landing was prompted by a bird strike, but the aircraft landed without incident, and all passengers and crew were unharmed. “Alternative arrangements are being made for the passengers,” Prakash confirmed.

The second incident involved a Kochi-bound SpiceJet flight, which was carrying 117 passengers and crew. The private carrier made an emergency landing in Chennai after a technical issue was detected mid-flight. The SpiceJet Q400 aircraft, which had originally departed from Chennai, returned to the airport and landed safely. A SpiceJet spokesperson assured that safety measures were in place, and passengers were deplaned upon arrival.

In both cases, the airline emphasized the safety of the passengers and crew, with both aircraft landing without any injuries. The incidents highlight the airline's commitment to ensuring the well-being of everyone on board in the event of technical difficulties.
