Tej Pratap Yadav Warns Tejashwi of 'Traitors' Amid Bihar Polls

Patna, Aug 19 (PTI) — Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has cautioned his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent RJD leader, to be vigilant of "traitors" within the party as assembly elections draw near in the state. In a post on X, Tej Pratap, who was recently expelled from the RJD by his father and party leader Lalu Prasad, alleged “some traitors are plotting to end my political career.” He urged Tejashwi to be wary: “I want to tell Tejashwi that there is still time. Be cautious of ‘Jaichands’ (a euphemism for traitors) around you, or else you risk facing severe electoral consequences. Your political acumen will be tested by the election results.”

Tej Pratap's post included a video allegedly showing the driver of RJD MLA Vijay Kumar Singh from the Nabinagar constituency being manhandled during the Congress' ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Aurangabad. While PTI could not independently verify the video's authenticity, Tej Pratap questioned the motives behind the yatra, “I can’t understand whether Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are staging the yatra to save democracy or dismantle it. The incident involving the MLA’s driver and a journalist being beaten and abused in the Nabinagar constituency is despicable and disgraceful.”

In another remark, Tej Pratap proclaimed, “Some traitors are hatching a conspiracy to finish my political career. However, these traitors are unaware that my name is Tej Pratap Yadav, and I will continue to forge ahead with even greater determination. No matter the magnitude of the conspiracy, they will never defeat me.”

Earlier, Tej Pratap declared the formation of an alliance of five smaller parties to participate in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Making this announcement at a press conference in Patna, he was joined by national presidents of these parties — Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VVIP), Bhojpuriya Jan Morcha (BJM), Pragatisheel Janta Party (PJP), Wajib Adhikar Party (WAP), and Sanyukt Kisan Vikas Party (SKVP).

He stated his intent to engage the public through his organization and social media. “Now, whoever wants to challenge us, come and face us in the electoral battle,” he asserted.
