Khalistan preacher and Waris Punjab de chief Amritpal Singh was arrested by Punjab Police from Moga district on Sunday after he surrendered.

The radical preacher was brought to Assam, and was taken to Dibrugarh jail amid tight security. Notably, Amritpal's key aides are also lodged in the same jail.

Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown against the Khalistan leader on March 18, a month after his supporters stormed a police station in the state.

Despite, best efforts by the police, Amritpal managed to escape from the state and was on the run for over a month.
